Summer vacation trip

Ono Karori

A long, long summer vacation.
My eldest son, who I spent every day with, has started the second semester, and I can now see him off wearing his school bag.
The chirping of insects is faint.
It's autumn.
The Mikusa Exhibition starts this weekend. We have lots of plans.
Please come to Utsushiki to relax and unwind from the summer fatigue.
Before we move into autumn, let's take a look back at summer.
This year, I traveled to many different places with my children.
I went to Hokkaido and Kagawa for my husband's exhibition.
To my hometown, Niigata.
I get seasick on ferries, I go on long car drives, and I get excited when I'm in the clouds on an airplane.
Having enjoyed camping in Hokkaido and being surrounded by nature, we were excited to try camping on the beach in Kagawa. However, we didn't know about camping in the middle of summer, and the bungalow was like a sauna, so we couldn't sleep at night...
I was warmly welcomed wherever I went, and thanks to that I was able to spend truly fulfilling days. Thank you very much.
When I see my children enjoying the 30-hour trip without complaining, it seems like a normal thing to do, but when I think about it, it's probably normal for them to be a bit more selfish and cry.I feel that travel is a normal part of my children's lives, and they have naturally learned to deal with travel through repeated experiences.
I often take my child off school to go with me, but I want him to realize from a young age that the place he is in now is not everything, and I want him to know that there are many people with diverse values in this world, so I try to take him out as much as possible. I tried to hold back my feelings of loneliness and encouraged my child to leave home as soon as possible, but my own desire to go out also grew stronger little by little as my child grew.
Your children have grown twice as big this summer. I hope they will always remain the kind of people who are ready to jump into unknown places with gusto.
