My name is Mariko Tanoue and I have been helping out with Utsushiki since April.
I mainly work in the store, deepening my knowledge of the products and preparing for the displays...
I still have a lot to learn and the days go by in a flash,
I also enjoy chatting with customers while they shop.
It was only two years ago that I first visited Utsushiki with my husband, who makes the "Kagetsubi" hats that are also sold here at Utsushiki, and my son, who was only one and a half years old at the time.
"When I become independent, I'll hold an exhibition at Utsushiki."
"Utsushiki" is run by Ono-san, who has been waiting for her husband's hat for years.
It feels like a long time ago that I visited that lifestyle, as the saying goes, "seeing is believing."
The place called Utsushiki seems to be swirling with a special energy that can greatly change one's state of mind and environment.
Our family jumped into that fray, moving from Kanagawa Prefecture to Kurate County, Fukuoka Prefecture in October of last year and starting a new life.
There is no stable income here, in fact you start from a negative position.
In the midst of all this, the growth of children, the health of the family, and the state of each spouse change day by day as they create things.
Dealing with various things can sometimes be painful.
Even so, my current lifestyle is blessed with the blessings of nature and the interactions with people that show me wealth beyond money.
Above all, I feel a sense of fulfillment from being able to do what I love.
This time, I unexpectedly jumped into the vortex of reflection as an individual, an opportunity to become independent as a person, and it seemed like a time for change.
New changes have already occurred within the family, and it remains to be seen how they will continue to change in the future.
It can be scary to learn about a world you've never experienced before, but once you overcome that fear, you'll encounter
I believe that a beautiful world exists, and I would be happy if I could become someone who brings a light breeze to the world.
