Information on "Tetsuya Hioki Exhibition -Rice and Pickles-"

With cold rain and sun alternating, we can feel autumn deepening.
This is an announcement for the "Tetsuya Hioki Exhibition," which will be held for the first time in two and a half years, with autumn colors in the background.
Aside from the theme of "rice and pickles," which resonates directly with the hearts of Japanese people, the impression given by the works has also changed since the last time , making one feel as though one will never come across the same thing twice, which is another highlight of Hioki Tetsuya's exhibition.
Just having your favorite rice and pickle bowls, which are essential to our daily lives, can make you feel richer in your heart.
Please come and discover some color in your everyday life.

"Rice and pickles"
The reason I came up with the theme was that I had the opportunity to go to Hungary last year and this year at a time when I felt vaguely stuck. I physically distanced myself from what was in front of me, and when I came back, I thought the food was delicious. I thought it would be nice to be able to eat at least in a cool rice bowl when I eat, and that's why I made this work. I realized that even if you don't put in much effort to eat, it's important that your food lifts your mood, like the delicious pickled cucumbers I made in the summer. One of the things I learned from an artist in Hungary was the idea of "comfort food." It means something like "mother's cooking," but it's food that you can make quickly when you're tired, is easy, nutritious, and gives you energy from nostalgia and a sense of security. I think everyone has different memories and important foods, so I thought about what "comfort food" means to me. Add a little more oil to a hot frying pan, crack an egg into it, and stir until it is half-cooked. Pour in soy sauce and enjoy the slightly burnt aroma. Serve with daikon radish pickled in soy sauce. I feel like the food my mother praised me for as a child has always given me strength. We have prepared dishes that evoke the image of such casual, everyday cooking.
