Kagetsubi Autumn/Winter New Works Exhibition

Thanks to you, we have now completed our seventh anniversary exhibition and are now entering the beautiful season of autumn.

Starting from the beginning of the month, we will be holding a hat exhibition by Kagetsubi, where you can enjoy autumn and winter outfits.

The first time I made a hat was when I was a backpacker in Australia and had dreadlocks.

I wanted something to wear, so I made a hat by hand sewing together scraps.

I put feathers I found, sew stones on, etc. I just enjoy doing whatever comes to mind without worrying about anything.

That small opportunity led to something that continues to this day

A year has passed since moving to a new place.

Feel the ever-changing nature

By living everyday life

Gradually, I started making

I have come to simply go with the flow.

Appreciation for animal fur materials

Each piece is carefully crafted

Blends into everyday life

Blending into the natural scenery

A natural presence between the sky and the person

I wish I could make something like that.

By making things by hand,

The collection also includes hats made from felt dyed with persimmon tannins, antique cloth from long ago in Laos and India, beautiful silk threads, and stones.

The copper fittings, each one different, were made by Yuichi Sasaki, who also has a connection with Utsushiki.

Most of the hats in this exhibition are one-of-a-kind pieces.

Come and find something that matches your current mood along with the autumn and winter clothing displayed on the mirror.

And in October we have another exhibition coming up that we hope many people will experience.

Utsushiki will host the first exhibition of works by Masamitsu Tono , who collects materials himself in Nagano Prefecture and weaves baskets.

We once hosted a vegetarian dinner party, and over time we have continued to move forward with our new expression as our profession.
