Next to the carpet of gold and green light, waiting for the rice harvest,

Like a firework

The red spider lilies are in full bloom at this time of year, and you can almost hear the sound of crackling sparks.

With the autumn equinox, the plants are starting to fade.

It feels like she is smiling in the gentle sunlight.

The clay is kneaded, shaped, and baked.

Pick plants, use fire and sunlight, and make tea.

I wanted to go back to the origins of my ceramics, which I have been working on.

I am also interested in the origins of tea, which are ethnic plant roasting.

These things are connected, and recently I have been pursuing fantasy ethnic paraphernalia.

In this solo exhibition at Utsushiki,

I recently put together some dishes that I had been using for roasting for a week.

Takashi Ichikawa

Born in Shiga Prefecture in 1967.
He built a kiln in Ibuki Town, Shiga Prefecture, and has held solo exhibitions throughout Japan and overseas.
We aim to create tableware that blends into the lives of those who use it.
He also made "tea carts" for carrying tea utensils into the fields and forests.
They hold unique tea ceremonies and spread the charm of tea.
