Emiowasu
Naoki and Junko Abe of Emiowasu, based in Kibichuo Town, Okayama Prefecture, make clothes using natural materials and traditional Japanese and Asian handcraft techniques.
Rooted in the land,
Surrounded by animals such as goats and dogs,
Every day I savor the pleasures of life.
Travels to Japan, Thailand and India—
Rich natural scenery and traditional lifestyles,
I remember being attracted to handicrafts.
This is the starting point of Emiowasu's manufacturing.
Knitwear made in a village in the Himalayan region of India, at an altitude of 2,500 meters, surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountain scenery.
The hand-woven fabrics and rhythmic hand-stitching made by the always cheerful and bright Thai people.
Old shuttle looms, precise sewing machine stitches,
Japanese craftsmen who support us with their careful work.
Emiowasu's clothes are made through the efforts of many different people and places.
