Utsushiki will be holding the exhibition "Oriental Visions - Between Memory and Transformation."
Everything is clothed in layers of time.
Hand-woven baskets, minerals crystallized underground,
Tools that have been used by someone and are quietly aging away.
It is here that the activities of the past intersect with a gaze looking at the present.
This exhibition is an attempt to reconstruct the "Wunderkammer" (Chamber of Wonders) in modern times.
Antiques and tools from all over Asia, works by contemporary artists, minerals and fossils are displayed in the same space.
It creates a dialogue between what is man-made and what is created by nature.
Woven lines and crystalline ridges.
The warmth of human hands and the heartbeat of the earth.
The combination of these two elements brings out the strength hidden in the silence,
A new beauty emerges from the absence.
Past and present, artificial and natural, existence and space.
It is in this "gap" where different things resonate with each other,
There are images of memories woven together across time.
In this space, we hope you will sense the presence hidden deep within things and clear your mind to the echoes of untold time.

The other day, we had the tall eucalyptus trees in front of our shop and the other trees in our garden trimmed.
A path for wind and light has been created, allowing fresh air to flow.
I hope that I can enjoy the changing garden with you throughout the seasons as it gradually changes.
