Dialogue - Junko Kurosawa -

対 話 - くろさわじゅんこ -

People don't know themselves as well as they think.

...This may be an exaggeration, but I wonder if I am living my life by making full use of the characteristics and subconscious that I possess.

"Palmistry teaches us how to live our one and only life in the way that suits us best."

These are the words of Kurosawa Junko, who travels around the country conducting palm readings.

After accumulating experiences and struggles during her time as an office lady, where she was nicknamed "Jackknife Junko," she discovered a single-minded person who was searching for a way of life that suited her.

Even if you have good palm lines, if you don't use your talents, they will just be wrinkles.

"When I started palm reading, I realized that there are many people who think that their strengths are also their weaknesses. They end up spending their days in frustration because they try to do their best in areas that they are not good at, which is not their subconscious. When I read palms, I think that this situation is a waste."

Strengths and weaknesses are two sides of the same coin. Developing your strengths has the potential to make the most of your talents much more than overcoming your weaknesses.

"Even if you have good palm lines, if you don't develop your talents, they're just wrinkles," says Junko.

"For example, during a palm reading, some people ask, 'I'm forgetful, so can I take notes?' People who are bad at remembering things often have a keen sense. If you try to take notes diligently and follow instructions perfectly, your sensibilities will not be used at all, and you will lose your sparkle. You will end up losing confidence because you are trying to improve in areas you are weak at."

Junko has a cheerful expression and speaks in a gentle tone.

However, contrary to his calm impression, he says "it's a waste not to utilize your subconscious mind," because he has been through conflict and experience in his life so far.

During my time as an office lady, I was doing my best just to protect myself

Before starting palm reading, Junko worked as an office lady for 22 years.

Looking back, he says he was harsh towards those around him.

"At the time, all I could do was protect myself. There was a delicate part inside my heart that was like the glass of a slide that would break if someone stepped on it. So in order to protect that part, I put up a barrier to keep it away from me."

Some time passed, and when he visited the site of the Great East Japan Earthquake as a volunteer, he began to reexamine his life and began to learn about palmistry, which had always interested him.

"Why have I been burying my potential in it all this time?"

Through palmistry, Junko began to live the life she wanted.

He quit his job and traveled around the country as a palm reader.

The future revealed by palmistry

Utsushiki will be holding its first palm reading in two years in November.

I'm sure there are some people who are skeptical of palmistry, saying things like, "Palmistry is never accurate," or "It's unscientific."

Just like fingerprints, no two palms are the same. And just like life, there are no two exactly alike.

As the name suggests, palmistry is the act of looking at a person's palm to determine their life story.

"Fortune telling always serves as a catalyst for something. It's not a question of whether something is good or bad, but rather how you choose to use what you've learned through fortune telling. I believe that each and every one of these choices will open up new possibilities in life."

After this conversation, we often encounter happy events and depressing situations in life. The important thing is to live true to your own voice, and palmistry is a way to know how to do that. Junko will continue to travel lightly, drawing out the important individuality of each person from the palm of their hand and supporting them towards a wonderful future. Please look forward to the next palm reading event.
