Utsushiki Purchasing Trip to Thailand

Yasuhide Ono

Early in the new year, I went to Thailand for about a week to do some purchasing.
This is my 11th time in Thailand.
As always, I keep my antennae open and search around for anything interesting.
When I go shopping, I just walk. That's all I can say.
If I see something that catches my eye, I'll ask for an explanation of it, or ask around if they know of any interesting places.
Bangkok is a bigger city than Tokyo and has been booming in recent years, with a construction boom and people enjoying shopping at markets.
While watching this scene, I continued to search for my favorite Thai as usual.
It's important not to get carried away no matter what country you're in.
I spent the first half of my trip based in Bangkok and the second half in Chiang Mai.
This is my third time in Chiang Mai.
A year has passed since my last stay and things have changed rapidly in that time, but it is comforting to know that time passes more peacefully here than in Bangkok.
There are also many delicious cafes and restaurants, making it a great place to stay and sightsee.
I rented a motorbike and went to a village deep in the mountains about two hours from Chiang Mai.
It's a place I've long since thought I'd like to live there, and it's by far my favorite place out of all the places I've been to in Thailand so far.
The atmosphere surrounding this village was so good that it even gave the impression of opening up all five senses.
The tree house built on top of a 100-year-old lime tree was a spectacular sight.
I've only just returned and am already looking forward to my next visit.
It's memorable because it moves your heart.
It's easy to understand that things remain as physical objects, but things like music and cooking are live events that take place in the moment.
Even though I no longer have any physical memories of the delicious food I shared with someone there or the wonderful concert I attended, they remain in my memory.
It became clear to me that one of my goals in life was to find, communicate, and create things that move people and are memorable.
When it came to purchasing, I was mainly looking for threads to use in making accessories, and I came across the thread that I thought was just right!
This is a very beautiful yarn made from hand-spun organic cotton and linen that is very delicate yet very strong.
I'd like to try knitting something with this soon.
As for the antiques, there is an iron ball weighing nearly 10 kilograms with a face that resembles a planet.
Vintage Akha bag
I came across many wonderful items, including an Aka tribe chair that I doubt I'll ever find the exact same thing again.
This is the praying ceramic statue I found this time.
The act of praying is beautiful.
Just thinking about someone else is a rich thing.
I have come into contact with various religious views from various countries, and although the gods that we pray to are different, our feelings are the same.
That's what I felt during this trip.
We will be gradually putting the things we find in store, so please stop by if you are in the area.
Please wait a little longer for the webshop we have received some inquiries about.
