Throw away your strange pride

変なプライドを捨てる

What is this strange pride?

If your pride is preventing you from growing, then I think it's best to let go of that pride.

Even if you understand it in your head, it can still be quite difficult...!

Going back to ancient times, it has been said that the words "body" and "shell" are linked to the word "emptiness."

Normally, our "body = shell" is packed tightly with what we call our "ego," and when this balance is maintained, everything is fine, but when the balance between the mind and body is lost, people fall into extreme anxiety and depression.

I feel like I am in a state where I am no longer able to affirm the "self" that exists within the "shell" of myself.

I tend to do this too, but when you start digging deeper and doing self-analysis, asking yourself "what does it mean to be myself?" as part of your "self-discovery", it just becomes a quagmire...

I'm sure there's no such thing as "being yourself" in the first place.
I believe that the existence of "self" can only come into being through "relationships" with other beings other than oneself.

At times like these, it is important to empty your own "body = shell" and act with others in mind.

A quote that recently struck me was, "People who only think about themselves are more likely to become depressed. People who are too obsessed with their own motivation, success, self-realization, and the like, become increasingly narrow-minded." When I think about this, I realize there is a perspective that can only become clear once you let go of your ego and strange pride.

I've written about this on my blog, but the reality is that I'm still not there yet.

First, be aware of the issues you currently face and put into practice specific methods to improve them on a daily basis.
Perhaps instead of overthinking it too much, follow your curiosity and make it simpler and more light-hearted.

In the run up to the Michinoku Art Festival Yamagata Biennale, which will be held from September 5th, we are updating our YouTube channel with videos of about one minute each every day.

Every time I come into contact with the words and lives of the people I interview, I feel like I have the power to remind myself deep within what is truly important.

No matter what scene you look at, her attitude is light and relaxed, and she is simply following the voice that says, "I want to enjoy life."

The YouTube video update challenge is scheduled to be held at 11:11 every day until the Yamagata Biennale. The main video will be released on September 13th.

Please take a look at this as well.
