Cure and nurture

治して育む

I've been having some sort of problem lately and it's been bothering me.

If you trace it back, you'll probably find that the cause lies within myself, but why does it feel so difficult to correct what I have caused?

Utsushiki will be holding the MITTAN exhibition starting this weekend.
This will be a rare opportunity to see all of MITTAN's designs together in one place, in a different season than last time.

The fabrics, many of which are made from natural materials, are originally plant or animal cells that have been brought together in various ways to take shape into a piece of clothing, like constructing skin.

Even though it's layered on top of your body, you can move freely as if there are no boundaries.

I've been with MITTAN clothing for about five years since I first came across it at Utsushiki. The first piece I chose is still a favorite of mine. Because they continue to make the same designs over the years, I can choose my favorite pieces again after a few years.

Clothing that ages
Clothing that ages
How long does each piece of clothing last?

The ones that protected my body and left a strong mark were worn, and when I put them on, the fabric became soft and I felt a sense of security, like I was hiding in my own futon. The new ones made me look forward.

The joy of using the same design on different days is a unique MITTAN sensation.

You'll spend a lot of time together, and if it eventually wears out or fades, you can have it repaired.

It is probably rare for a company to continue to have this as a major philosophy throughout the company.

I had several opportunities to see the clothes after they had been repaired, and there was a sense that they had been healed.

Clothes that are imbued with someone's time,
Without erasing things that can only emerge through accumulation, we make use of what is now and address what is needed.

Just entrust your body to the clothes,
If it gets dirty, you can just wash it.
If it gets worn out you can just fix it.

Please come and meet the clothes that will help you look forward.

Now that spring has arrived, the body is working hard to release the toxins that have built up over the winter.

The discomfort may be part of it.

Appearing in this way also gives us the opportunity to look at ourselves in a new light.

Using what we are taught as a hint, we explore what to remove and what to supplement.

Since we can't change the body we have now, let's be grateful for what we have and work to improve it.
