"Making things to live"

Noserumi

Good morning.
Today is the third day of the Oak People Exhibition.
The Oak family has come to Utsushiki from Shodoshima and are having fun every day.
I was in the store on the first day and was impressed by the impressive exhibition space.
A small hut-like barrier was built in the reflection.
A world with a different atmosphere than usual is spreading out before you.
I haven't been there yet, but I live surrounded by the Seto Inland Sea and the lush greenery of the island.
Every time I stroke the bark of a tool carved from the wood, I feel like a fresh breeze of the wildness blows into my body.
"I think that in the past, if there was something that people needed in their lives, and there was a tree growing in front of them, they would try to make it."
He told us that when he first started living on Shodoshima and wanted a stool, his first experience was making a stool out of wood he found around him.
"Making things for living"
I don't know if this can be called expression, or if there is a future for it to be called art,
However, the fact that the act was so powerful and that it still stands today may have value in itself.
When I look at the tools of the Oak people, I am sometimes reminded of the ancient tools of many Asian countries.
Perhaps this is because the people of the sea, the people of the mountains, and the people of the islands all share a commonality in that they were created to meet the needs of their fundamental lives.
It is bold, bold, simple and heavy.
There is almost no decoration, but each moat trace gives it a lively and rich expression.
Hiro-kun, the man who answered the questions I had for a long time, not with words but with the way he lived his life.
Then, Ayaka-chan, with a dignified figure, walks softly alongside me and stands in the kitchen.
In the circle of family that the two of you have nurtured, you will surely find things that you need at that time.
I feel that a pure, unashamed heart will move forward with what resonates with you.
The shape of the tool this time is the shape of the tool this time.
Please come and burn it into your memory.
On weekends, Rasa will also be available at Oak Café, so look forward to it!
Have a great week!
