Space Circus

good morning.
A four-day weekend of pleasant autumn weather has come to an end.
How have you all been?

Utsushiki is holding the LIFT Yagi Ryosuke Exhibition until Sunday, September 27th.
We are truly happy that so many people have come to visit us every day!

Currently based in Yamagata, Yagi's current exhibition is titled "Space Circus."

Just as the words suggest, Utsushiki is a space unlike anything you've ever seen before, and your heart will beat faster with every step you take through the store entrance.

It's the same feeling I had as a child when I went to see a local theatre company perform or a small performance in a tent hut.

You lose track of whether it's daytime, dusk, or night, and you can't even tell if the things piled up in front of you are real or a set for a story.
There is a mixture of the everyday and the extraordinary.

The sight of the antiques that Yagi has collected over the years and the furniture he has created himself lined up side by side has something that can only be conveyed by experiencing it for yourself.

Yagi's furniture, which is created by mixing old wood, is not too shiny and new, but has a moderately neat feel.

I'm sure that just having one of these in your daily life will open up an extraordinary, exciting story-like landscape.

I can't stop feeling excited.

Yagi-san has now returned to Yamaka and is currently working hard on preparing additional pieces!
