How to deal with digital

デジタルとの向き合い方

I recently shaved my head.

When I shave my head after entering the workforce, people often ask me why.
People ask questions with various predictions: Did you do something wrong? Did you have a broken heart?

When I answer, hoping for a laugh, "To become a monk," most people burst into laughter.

Becoming a monk may seem like a grandiose idea, but I am half-serious about wanting to break away from my digital addiction.
Breaking free from it is a harsh word, but it is closer to a way of dealing with it.

Due to the nature of my job, I spend an average of more than 10 hours a day using my PC.

According to a survey by the Institute of Media Environment, the average
The average daily contact time for Japanese people with mobile phones/smartphones is 117.6 minutes, and this figure continues to increase every year.

This is just my personal feeling, but I feel that if this situation continues, we will become insensitive to small emotional changes.

If you prioritize time, when you have free time, you can quickly run to the convenience store and buy a lunch box,
Is the experience of eating with your smartphone in one hand really efficient?

Perhaps such behaviour is akin to an addiction.

That is why we want to be conscious of how we interact with digital.

Recently, in my free time, I have been enjoying being in nature, going hiking or fishing.

Just as fish movements change with the tides, nature contains much more information than digital and is constantly changing.

Perhaps that is why we are able to notice small details and our five senses are sharpened.

In order not to give up on "learning," I want to be as curious as a monk and actively experience the things around me.
