Information on the Nohara x Kagetsubi Exhibition
The weather has suddenly gotten warmer, making you want to head outside.
Utsushiki will be holding a nine-day exhibition to celebrate the arrival of spring.

He moved from Nagano Prefecture to a mountain village in Kyoto Prefecture, where he creates everyday items such as bags and wallets, clothing, and accessories using mainly natural fabrics and leather. He lives his life by carefully accepting and adding to each and every small thing that occurs in daily life. His works, which are created while feeling his connection to the land and the breath of life, are filled with kindness that affirms the true nature of the person who wears them.
In 2021, the brand moved to Kurate-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture, and has been making hats and other products in a natural environment, valuing "things that are created in the course of family life." The brand is known for its unique and deep-rooted hats, made with the everyday life of the hat owner in mind, made with the material and shape of the hat in mind. The circle that is the logo of the brand, Kagetsubi, is hand-embroidered one by one, just like the passing of the days.
The two are also artists with deep ties to Utsushiki Boss Yasuhide Ono, having shared a studio with him 10 years ago.
During this period, we will also be holding a clothing event by our senior, Yuya Moribe, who also shared the space.
Enjoy the atmosphere that can only be created among old friends.
Events that add color to the exhibition
In the cafe, "Amefuri", who also lent his strength to the previous Nohara Exhibition, has changed his name to Mokujin and opened a cafe after moving to Shodoshima.

We have created a Chai and Husk Bar with the image of gently supporting you during this energetic time as winter turns to spring, and then rising strong.
We will have three different types of Chai x Husk Bar sets with different themes. You can choose the one that suits your intuition at the time. Awaken your own senses and cells and celebrate the beginning of a new journey.
Looking back on the origins of the shop as a chai shop, we are incorporating chai research into island life. We make a different chai every day, 365 days a year.
○Husk Bar
I fell in love with the energy of cacao through a friend on the island who carefully roasts cacao. When making chocolate, the outer skin, or husk, is almost always removed in exchange for smoothness. My friend said that the husk contains most of the nutrients of cacao. I took advantage of the husk and developed a sweet using the whole cacao bean. Please enjoy our cacao sweets packed with energy.
Made with 100% Maya cocoa and Maya cocoa butter.

We purchase naturally grown cacao from deep in the Mayan jungles where it originated, and carefully roast it in small batches over binchotan charcoal produced on Shodoshima Island.

On the final day of the exhibition, there will be a concert at Utsushiki for the first time by Maika, who is well known from Baobab, as part of her solo project Meadow .

Meadow
A solo project by maika, who is active as baobab and the Caterina Institute for Early Musical Instruments. Launched in 2021. Centered on her own vocals, piano, fiddle, viola, etc., the sound world is abstract and seems to float through the landscape. The sounds include floating water, prisms of light, grasslands swaying in the wind, the feeling of being surrendered to nature and being enveloped, and sometimes smoky. Following the release of her first EP "eau" in 2021, she plans to release a full album in early summer featuring various artists as guests, including Gen Tanabe, haruka nakamura, Reizaburo Adachi, Yudai Suzuki, Mayuko Ishikawa, Hisashi Sudo, and Mirai Matsumoto. (Vocals and fiddle participation in "Nujabes PRAY Reflections"/haruka nakamura. Voice participation in "yaora"/gen tanabe.)
Meadow means grassland, and a meadow garden means creating a garden that is closer to the natural ecosystem. A garden that connects the house with the outside world.
