Information about the Chikuni Exhibition

chikuni 展のご案内

It has already been ten days since the new start of 2022.
I'm sure the New Year's holiday has ended in many areas, but I hope that we can continue to make many connections through Utsushiki this year as well.
Thank you for your continued support this year.

The first exhibition is the Chikuni exhibition, which has received a lot of positive feedback from people.
Chikuni's work completely changes the atmosphere of the space just by its presence.
The past two exhibitions have been held at the end of the year, with the lights providing a soothing and comforting finale to the year.
This exhibition will feature a variety of lights and time-marking pieces that will serve as guideposts for your journey through the year.

Announcement of Utsushiki Learning Space

To coincide with this exhibition, we will be hosting a learning opportunity with musician Miho Ota , who has been a long-time friend of chikuni.
Saturday is for adults. Sunday is for kids.

From my childhood until today, I have been constantly confronted with "voice."
Miho loves people, loves music, sings, and gives her all at all times.
"Music reveals everything about a person."
Let's spend some time together touching upon the roots of this woman.

profile

Miho Ohta
Born in Tokyo in 1978. Moved by the hymns she encountered at the age of eight, she aspired to become a musician. She released two albums, Kyomei and KiKi, under the label Utsushiki, but lost her voice temporarily due to thyroid cancer. This prompted her to decide to return to her roots and make choral singing her central focus of expression. She presides over the choir CANTUS, and is also active as part of the classical music unit adagio. A duo album with classical guitarist Paniyolo, Sora to Hana, is scheduled for release on January 29th. She is a single mother with one son and one daughter, and is a Christian.

○ "Chorus"

We will practice and perform a choral piece we composed for children, "Kono Hoshi no Takaramono."
On the day Miho joined the children's choir, she was able to blend in with everyone through her voice, even though she didn't know anyone, and it was this emotional experience that led her to decide to make a living through music. Children who love to sing, want to do something with others, and are full of energy are welcome to join us. As adults, we should just watch over the children shining in the choir. To the children who have worked hard, to the parents who always warmly watch over their growth, and to ourselves who always work hard as parents. We hope you will enjoy a meal of vegetables made with love by Kimie, a mother of two, together with your children, as a time of reward for each of you.
