She interprets the tool-like shape of pottery and the traces (patterns) left by natural, improvised hand movements that make use of the characteristics of the material as important elements, and is working on creating slipware-like pottery using familiar materials and kilns. In 2007, she moved to the UK and studied soda glaze under Lisa Hammond at Maze Hill Pottery. Since 2013, she has been making pottery in Tashiro, Shigaraki Town, Shiga Prefecture.
