Hender Scheme manual industrial products 11
These are geta sandals, traditional Japanese footwear. Originally handcrafted by artisans, geta are now in decline, with fewer being produced, and have been replaced by overseas-made hep sandals with synthetic soles and leather that look similar to geta. By sharing the work with the now-decrease number of artisans, we hope to once again produce handcrafted geta sandals with a different angle and concept. Tanned cowhide is used for the sole, and nails, one of the features of geta sandals, are driven into the heel.
While sex refers to physical and biological differences between the sexes, gender refers to social and cultural differences between the sexes. Hender Scheme respects sexual differences based on sex, but advocates a concept that transcends gender schemas that are structured by human experience and environment, without mediating gender in dress.
