Closing the year

There's not much time left this year.

The weekend was chilly, with a clear, cold wind bringing winter with it.

In addition, the first snow has fallen, covering the garden in pure white.

When you pass through the snowy scenery and open the door to Utsushiki, you will literally find a silver world spreading before you.

The final exhibition of 2022 will be by the well-known ceramic artist Ryuta Fukumura.

He regularly produces works with a mysterious presence that captivate even first-time viewers, and for this exhibition he has prepared an impressive selection of over 300 works, mainly consisting of the silver-glazed vessels that have become his signature style in recent years.

One of the best parts of the exhibition is being able to see the exceptionally beautiful scenery that can only be achieved by bringing together so many of them.

However, silver glaze works require a lot of work, such as temperature control and creating the texture.
If you focus on each piece, you will see that they are all unique and one of a kind.

I think the joy of choosing from among all these is truly one of his works.

We are also preparing an online exhibition so that people far away can enjoy the experience.

The update will start at 6pm on the 22nd (Thursday). Don't miss it!

On the first two days, Sardesca will serve a course meal entirely on Fukumura's tableware.

This newly created dish expresses respect for the ingredients and is an exciting encounter with ingredients unique to Kyushu.

The dishes that previously seemed so individual fade into the background, and the scenery on the plate changes as you eat, making this a fascinating dinner party.

I believe that each of them received a lump of happiness that filled every corner of their being.

And on the final weekend of the exhibition, Coffee Uranno will be hosting a special event called "Coffee No Seki"

Although they are much younger than me, I have learned a lot from them and respect their sincere approach to their work.

Utsushiki's business for this year will end on Sunday the 25th, with the final day of Fukumura's exhibition.

We only spend a few hours here with each customer, but it makes me happy just to think that the item they chose and took home may be supporting and enriching their life.

I am here as an intermediary, standing next to the works that the creators have poured their heart and soul into, and I am able to be involved in your time.
