Today, on the full moon day of January 11th, Utsushiki will pre-open its online store.

First of all, I would like to announce to everyone who is reading this diary. I live far away and I can't visit the store very often, so why don't you start an online store? I have received a lot of requests from people asking me, so finally, it has taken shape. The official launch will be on the new moon day of January 25th.

In this day and age, it's become commonplace to be able to buy anything online, and I wonder what that's like.

I wanted to value the experience of actually going to the store and touching the products directly.

More than that, we have a strong desire to have as many people as possible see the works of the wonderful creators we handle in our store, so we are starting this now. We would like to do various projects on the online shop so that our thoughts, feelings, and warmth can be conveyed, just like in our actual store. There are still only a few works, but we would like to update them little by little, so we would be happy if you would check in frequently.

Starting today, Utsushiki will be holding an exhibition of antique furniture and tools. Antiques found in Japanese flea markets and India are fused with antiques found in France by Ryo Suzuki, the owner of Gallery Cite in Hiroshima, creating a harmonious space. It's a spectacular sight that is well worth seeing.

And in the cafe there will be a tea stand by ANITYA.

Please enjoy the world of antiques while taking your time to relax with tea and sweets. Please also visit this place. We hope you have a wonderful day.

Antiques and antique furniture exhibition

This has become a regular New Year event, and this time, antiques found in India and Japan will be displayed alongside antiques collected in France by Suzuki Ryo, the owner of a gallery called Cite' in Hiroshima.
The antiques were selected little by little in France, where he lived for nearly 15 years. The items were selected by his eye, which is filled with love and knowledge of antiques. I hope that the exhibition will be a genre-less display of items that cross the East and the West, and the primitive and the civilized. For some, the antiques may be junk and unnecessary, but they are the ones who find value in them. Antiques are mysterious tools that have stood the test of time. Who decides the value of an object? If you can find beauty in them, I believe it all comes down to this one point. I want people to choose with pure, unclouded eyes, deciding based on their own values, not those of others.
