Because it always exists

常あるからこそ

It's been a week since the Chikuni exhibition ended, and while the reflections still remain, the reflections are now on permanent display.

The world of Chikuni still lingers in my mind, as I converse with Awataya-san.

Takeshi Awaya of Chikuni held an exhibition at Utsushiki in January 2022.

You can get a deeper understanding of the subject through Miho's writings at the learning sessions held during the event.

If you simply describe it as a permanent exhibit, you might think, "I'll come back next time," or, "I might as well come during a special exhibition!", but the real pleasure of Utsushiki is in its permanent exhibit.

In a sense, it is a mirror image of Boss Ono exhibition, and the sight of works by various artists and antiques and furniture gathered in one space at the same time is something that can only be experienced at that time.

There are those that were made in recent years and whose maker is known, and those that were made some time ago by an unknown person in a faraway country and have been used by someone.

They come from such diverse environments that it's strange for them to exist together, and they are all people with so many different elements, each of whom finds their place here, without any one being the best.

Ono explores what will be placed next to each other, the distance between things, and what he wants to show, and then puts it all together.

The scenery that appears is tense, but the focus is on the good points of each scene.

Perhaps because I know what it's like waiting in the back room, I am so moved by the exquisite balance of the products when they are lined up in the store that it gives me goosebumps.

It feels as if the whole world, including the atmosphere, reaches right up to your skin.

It's the exhilarating feeling of discovering the answer to a complex mathematical proof problem among several possible solutions.

It's fascinating how an invisible order lurks within the chaos, and how moving it just a centimeter or two can disrupt the harmony.

When the receiver touches it, the balance changes.

There are many answers, and they change from time to time, with a different harmony at each moment.

I feel that this is similar to the way Mr. Ono interacts with each of us on the staff.

Once you're familiar with the permanent exhibits, the experience of seeing a special exhibition, with its completely different scenery, is even more enjoyable.

This is something you can only notice by following a series of movies or stories in order from the beginning.

You can also start halfway through and work your way back to the roots.

Please enjoy each and every one of them.

The entrance to the antiques seen from another side is dressed as a mirror .

Utsushiki is holding an antiques fair/10% off until February 17th.

We are waiting for you all, lined up in a cramped space.

It's exciting to choose from the large selection, as different things appeal to different people.

At the same time, we are offering free shipping online.

Ono finally set off for India after two years away.

You can see the details here .

I can't wait to encounter new minerals and ancient things and see the scenery that will unfold before me.

Those who have been looking forward to Yasuhide Ono's accessories can look forward to it!
