Thoughts and Actions

Last month, I visited the ceramic artist Shimizu Shiro, who has his home and studio in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture.
Shiro never likes to say much.
As an interviewer, there are many times when I think to myself, "Please tell me more!", but those words sometimes lead to another scene. At those times, I definitely felt like I got to know Shiro better than I could have gotten to know him through his words.
Just as it is much more persuasive to make someone believe that "we make this with love" in a non-verbal way than to say it in words, I also realized that the personality that comes through without them speaking is what makes them who they are, and that video is also a way to convey that.
That said, now that filming is over, I want to work hard and not succumb to the enormous pressure of Oda's editing, and whether I can convey what Shiro is like now.
Speaking of pressure, Oda is currently working on two projects and it makes him feel sick every day.
One of them is that we will be holding a photo exhibition in a corner of the cafe to mark the 7th anniversary of Utsushiki in September.
When I asked the Utsushiki Boss "By the way, what's the topic?" he replied "selfish," so I started off in a psychological state of "The topic isn't right."
Although I understand that Ono's message is that "selfish" means "do as you like," I am keenly aware of the difficulty of creating something from nothing.
We will work hard so as not to embarrass Utsushiki, who has prepared such a wonderful stage for us.
There will also be events with a distinguished line-up of guests, so please look forward to those as well.
I'll try my best to make sure my photos aren't blurry.
The other one is Oda Photo Studio.
From the year before last or last year, he would mutter to himself, "I want to take a family photo."
Although this desire grows stronger with each passing day, I can't put it into action, using my busy schedule as an excuse, and I just keep putting it off...
It's a bad habit of Oda's. I realized that it's been two years since I started saying it...
If you want to do something, the best thing to do is to think about it while doing what you can now.
So, this was a long introduction, but...
On Saturday, July 16th, we will be opening a photo studio at Utsushiki.
If you feel like laughing, then laugh. If you're going to cry, then cry as much as you can.
Since it's something that will last a lifetime, take the picture with a face that will make your future self smile when you look at it.
So, here are the details:
