After the Tokyo interview

東京取材を終えて

An exhibition by Hiiro Ookami + Flower Shop Nishibeppu Shoten will be held from Saturday, June 20th.
Following on from the last exhibition with Ichikawa-san, we decided to head to Aoyama in Tokyo, where Sato-san and Nishibeppu-san are active, to take some photos and interview him, in order to help liven up the online experience.

Due to the influence of COVID-19 and equipment constraints, we decided to travel by car from Fukuoka to Tokyo, a journey that took about 15 hours.

Traveling by car can be quite physically demanding, but compared to airplanes and bullet trains,
If you change your perception of it as "difficult" or "tough" to "It's interesting that when you're driving you can get a sense of the distance and location of prefectures visually and physically," you won't get discouraged and you'll always be able to do your best.
I've always just been the type of person who loves traveling long distances.
By the way, anyone who has traveled from Kyushu to Tokyo will know that it is an incredibly long journey that crosses the two prefectures of Hiroshima and Shizuoka.

I have only met Mr. Sato of Hiiro Ookami and Mr. Nishibeppu of the flower shop Nishibeppu Shoten during the exhibition period at Utsushiki.
It was truly a pleasure to be able to visit their studio through this interview and see their approach to delicate craftsmanship.
Because we know the two of them well, our enthusiasm for the interview is higher than usual.

The main mission given to Utsushiki's head, Mr. Ono, at the meeting the day before the interview was

"Show me two I've never seen before."

I kept these words in my head at all times so I wouldn't forget them, and followed the two of them for two days.
For those who know Mr. Sato and Mr. Nishibeppu, there is no point in me giving away the information I already know.
I would be happy if I could convey even a little bit of a side to them that they didn't know about.

For more details, please check out the " Dialogue " and " Video " which will be updated from now on.

There are three videos in total from the Tokyo business trip.
We will continue to update you on the concerts and exhibitions by Ota Miho and Kamikaki Eriko, which will be held on June 20th (Sat) and June 21st (Sun), so please look forward to it.
The first part of our Tokyo business trip edition has already been released, so please take a look at it when you have time.
