The scenery is created by the choices you make

選ぶもので景色はつくられる

I often think about the emotions I associate with a memory.

I grew up in an environment where there were many people with intellectual disabilities, including my younger brother who has Down's syndrome.
I am often amazed at how accurate my memory is in a certain field.

Perhaps it is because such events have moved me emotionally at each moment.

My cousin, who has autism, suddenly started crying and became unable to move while we were staying at the hotel.

I finally realized that the reason was that the pattern on the transom in the room was exactly the same as the one in the room where I spent a little time as a child.
Memories of the loneliness I felt when I was home alone suddenly came flooding back to me.

Walking on tiptoes is a common characteristic of autism,
One theory is that this is because their senses are so sensitive that they cannot withstand the stimuli from the ground.

When you practice Aikido, you can harness the energy of the earth from your feet to power your whole body.
This makes me imagine how strong the stimulation would be.

I majored in textiles at university and studied weaving, but I only wove rugs and tapestries to be used as furniture.

Jacquard curtains were always in the background of my childhood.

Even as a child, I thought things made up of intricately arranged, multi-colored threads were beautiful.

This is also the background to the sweet times he spent with his family, as well as the bitter experiences he experienced.

The time I spend reminiscing about the scenery is very precious to me.
I wanted to be able to create a part of that scenery.

Something that could become just another insignificant part of the background.

The things around me now are a mixture of things I have acquired myself and things I have inherited from others.
After all, it is me who chooses to be with them.

If it's a way to create time to move forward, I want it to be made up of things that I feel are important.

With that in mind, let's enjoy "choosing".
