Tetsuya Hioki Exhibition Day 3

Noserumi

good morning.
At last, signs of spring are in the air at the end of February, and today marks the third day of Utsushiki's first-ever Tetsuya Hioki exhibition.
I was about to write "Ceramic artist Hioki Tetsuya," but then I realized, is it okay to call him a ceramic artist?
With this hesitation, my hands stop typing.
Perhaps I feel this way all the more because I had the opportunity to interview Hioki-san after the first day of business.
These works are the result of Hioki, who is also Tsuchiya, picking up phenomena.
The more I hear about the clay and firing methods that go into each piece, and the surprising treatments he takes after firing, the more I get the feeling that only someone with such a thorough knowledge of clay could do this.
However, rather than talking about such difficult things in a plausible way, Hioki simply says with a smile, "I just love it," and perhaps viewers are inspired by his purity.
In a world of such vast scale and connections, things like originality become irrelevant, and we are simply moved and amused by the diverse expressions and sequence of time that appear before our eyes.
The contents of the interview spoken by Tetsuya Hioki will be posted on the " Dialogue " section of our website at a later date, so please look forward to it!
Additionally, Coffee Kou from Fukuoka City will be providing fragrant coffee at the exhibition.
The owner, Mr. Matsuda, has a gentle personality and a straight, taut dedication to coffee.
The candid conversations that could be heard coming from the coffee shop and the insatiable pursuit of coffee seemed very similar to something about Mr. Hioki.
Hioki's presence in the gallery was up until yesterday, but a pop-up cafe is also planned for the final day of the exhibition on Sunday, March 6th.
Please note that reservations are required.
So, I hope you have a great day today, filled with the "interesting" that comes from within you.
We look forward to seeing you at Utsushiki!
