birthstone

Time flies and it's already March this year.

Time flies.

I used to write my blog regularly, but before I knew it, it had been three or four weeks since I last wrote anything. (Although I have a mountain of things I want to write about.)

It's still a while away, but in April we will be holding our first special exhibition at Utsushiki.

A very cool exhibition of artwork using plants.

We are also considering holding workshops, so please look forward to it.

I'll write more details next time.

Today I thought I'd write a little about my main business, accessories .

If you deal with minerals and natural stones, you will almost always hear about birthstones.

By the way, the birthstone for this month of March is aquamarine.

When customers come to the store or exhibitions to choose stones, they often ask questions like, "What month was my birthstone, and I don't really like it," or "Do birthstones really bring good luck?"

So what exactly are birthstones? I wondered, and when I researched them, I discovered that they have a surprisingly short history, having been invented by a Polish jeweler in the 18th century as a marketing tool to sell stones, and that they have continued to exist to this day.

Apparently, if we go back to ancient times, the origins of birthstones can be found in the Bible and other sources, but birthstones vary slightly from country to country, so I don't think you need to worry about it too much.

I think what's really important when choosing is not the meaning of the stone or its origin (although those are of course important), but rather your intuition as to whether you like it or not.

This is not a criticism of birthstones, but I hope it will be an opportunity for people to learn about and fall in love with stones.

I dream of increasing the number of people who love stones, even just a little, and having fun talking about how amazing this stone is.
