There are always people behind the numbers

Thank you for visiting the "MITTAN Exhibition" held from October 3rd to 11th.
The online session will be available until 10:00 today, October 12th. Please enjoy it until the very end.
My daily work involves updating the online shop and writing interviews and articles for people who have held exhibitions on the " Dialogue " page of the site.
On the final day of the exhibition, I had the opportunity to serve customers for a short time.
Although I was not used to serving customers, I had a great time hearing about each customer's preferences and thoughts about MITTAN.
Even through our online shop, we have many interactions with people every time.
It goes without saying that analyzing numbers is important.
On the other hand, however, there are times when relying too much on numbers can lead to you being caught off guard.
When this happens, it's usually because we forget the human emotion behind it.
We rush ahead with the idea that "numbers are important!", and the moment we replace things with numbers, they begin to feel like flat, virtual entities.
Behind the numbers lie a whole host of different emotions and individual lives.
When I stand in the store and see the way people who come to our display behave when selecting items and the look on their faces after they make a purchase, I am reminded once again that I must never forget this.
The artists who exhibit at each exhibition are people who take a serious approach to daily life and craftsmanship and put it into practice.
The words of someone who has dedicated themselves to creating something convey their aesthetic sense and beliefs in every detail.
Knowing not only the quality of the work but also the story behind it creates a connection between the user, the work, and the creator beyond.
My experience in the store made me feel even more strongly that I wanted to convey to each and every person the background behind the creation of each piece.
